MYTH: DANGER OF SKIN CANCER/DAMAGE TO SKIN IS DETERMINED BY WHETHER YOU BURNED WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG

False! While it is true that having 5 or more sunburns in your lifetime can increase your chance of being diagnosed with skin cancer, age is not a determining factor. Cumulative exposure to UVA and UVB rays over your lifetime increases aging of skin and the possibility of being treated for pre-cancers and skin cancers. So, it is important to wear hats, sunscreens and sun protective UPF clothing throughout your lifetime to help protect your precious skin!
